He Is Here!

He came into the world on Friday, November 24, at 12:56. He weighed 8lb 3oz, and now weighs 7lbs 14oz. I can't believe today he is a week old! It seems like yesterday, and it also seems like he's been here forever, funny how that works. Sadie already loves being a big sister, is interested in everything he does and likes to "hold" him. Actually, she's a little TOO interested sometimes. I have to watch her when he's in his bouncy seat.

I am recovering well. A planned c-section is SOOO much easier than an emergency one. Although, you could probably guess that. Recovery is still hard, and it hurts like heck, but it's only a week later and I am almost off the pain meds. With Sadie it was MUCh longer. I have lots of help, so I am incredibly grateful to my parents, my in-laws, and our "Canadian", Sarah. I'll shut up now and just let you look at pics of the beautiful boy. Sadie alternately calls him "Baby brother" and "Baby Jack", she even has a little dance she does for him. I don't know what she's actually saying, but she dances and says "Baby Jack Yo".

His coming home outfit made by his great-grandmother. Camo, of course.

This one shows his face without a paci.

  13. Congrats, Amy!

I'm about a month head of you, newborn-wise, and I must say that it's a bit of a challenge. Hopefully, Sadie is sleeping through the night and taking a daily nap still. That will end up being Mommy nap time, too.

In any case, you have a beautiful baby boy. Welcome to having two!

  16. Congrats on your precious little boy. Love the name! I agree scheduled is SO much better than Emergency c-section. With my second, like you, I was off meds in about a week and back to working in 2 weeks. With first, well let's just say, life was harder, plus we moved when our firstborn was 10days old.

As Ben said, I hope Sadie still naps, so you can get rest. It is so nice to just 'be' for a bit.

He is beautiful Amy! Miracle baby #2? I thought I would ask... would you guys by chance visit this summer for a certain wedding if miracle baby # 1 was to be a flower girl?

  21. Steph! Wedding bells are FINALLY ringing, eh? YAYAYAYAYAAAAAAAAAYYYY!!!! A visit would be fantastic, and Sadie would be a superb flower girl (of course I would say that, I am her mother and her number one fan!) We will have to talk (on the phone, it would be so DIFFERENT) and do some planning and see if it would work out.
