Very Soon
Today is the 5th of November. I am having a baby on the 24th of November. 24-5=19. I am having a baby in 19 days. I am completely freaked out by this. I mean, yes excited, but mostly freaked out. No need for lots of comments that it will be all right, and lots of moms do it and all that, I know. That doesn't mean I'm not freaked out. I mean, 19 days. It's very weird to know the day and hour your next child is coming into the world. It seems a little wrong, although after two doctoral opinions I don't discount that it is the right decision. I am SOO not ready, I don't have his room ready, I haven't bought a monitor yet, I need to get a new diaper genie, there are SOOOO many things to do yet!
And I'm totally freaked out that he may come sooner than that and I'll have to actually "go into labor". I've psyched myself up for another c-section, which means the other night when I had contractions (again) I realized that my scheduled c-section didn't necessarily mean "no pain" (beforehand, of course, I have had a c-section before and know that there is MUCH pain involved). That was the first time it occured to me and I almost hyperventilated.
Friday night I woke up with my body is some form of "shock", I couldn't stop shivering for over an hour and John almost had a heart attack. We were in Biloxi with the John's family for a weekend away and I was not ABOUT to go into labor in Biloxi, Mississippi. So, yes, I'm worried that he may come soon. Pray he doesn't, for so many reasons. The longer the bun stays in the oven, the better cooked he will be. And, his momma isn't mentally prepared yet.
