Told you so

I told you I could blog more now. Although, this is just because my parents are here and giving me a bit of a break. I have the most wonderful update about my Sadie. THREE DAYS IN A ROW she has gone to sleep for nap AND night time all by herself with VERY minimal "Mommy"'s. Three nights in a row she has been asleep by 9:30. I just take her to bed, read her a book, we say our verse and pray, then she gets in her bed to "read her books". She reads herself to sleep. It's very cute for an almost-two-year-old to be lying in bed reading a book. Tonight she was crying for me, so I peaked in where she couldn't see me and she was crying and whining for me while she read her book. Manipulator.

This is my beautiful little man. He's two months old now! I honestly can't believe how time is flying. I also sometimes can't believe how much my life has changed. I now cannot believe I ever thought having one child was hard. Especially when she was this little. All he does is sleep. Although he just started being more aware of the world, and he just stopped crying non-stop. Okay, now he's waking up, so I have to go. Plus, if I go now, I can get to bed before 11:00! Wow.

Wireless Wonderland

I am sitting in my living room, in a rocking chair, and playing on the internet. My Dad is wonderful. He wanted wireless at our house so that when they are here in the RV he could have internet access. Byproduct? I get wireless! Now, I can use the internet more, so maybe I'll blog like I used to. Maybe I shouldn't have said that, now I have no excuse.

Investigating Making Money at Home

So, if you got my email about this, stop reading now. Unless of course you ignored my email about this, then a pox on your head.

Okay, so I'm investigating something that I could do
to make money from home in order for John NOT to
have to feel all the responsibility. My prerequisites
would be that I have to be able to set my own hours
(how else would it work with a 21 month old and a
2 month old???) and it has to be something that I
truly believe in. I found this opportunity and in
order to see if I like it or not I thought "why not
host and eshow?".

I picked kids books because Sadie LOVES to read.
Books are her favorite thing, they always have been.
Ask anyone thats been around her and they can tell
you that it's constant "read it please!" As a result of
her love of books, and us reading to her constantly,
this little girl, 21 months old, talks in 5-6 word
sentences, can completely communicate with us,
and has recently even added the term "inanimate
object" to her vocabulary. It makes me laugh
because she even uses it correctly. Anyway, I could
go on an on about Sadie.

I love to give books as gifts for people having
babies. Surely you do too? Visit this website,
where they have great books and great prices, and
purchase some books for your kids, grandkids,
friends, baby showers, birthdays, whatever you
want and you can help me earn free books for
Sadie's second birthday! I would love to be able to
give her a whole new library (and books that are not
Dora related would definately be a welcome
change). If you have a minute and can check it out
for me I would appreciate it! And if you want to
buy Sadie a second birthday present, that would be
great too!!!!!

Sleeping in Her OWN bed

Yes, we finally did what we should have done a LONG time ago, put Sadie in HER bed in HER room. We talked it up for two days, "Where is Sadie going to sleep tonight?" reply from Sadie *excitedly*: "In Sadie Room!". The first night she slept from 9 until 8 the next morning! I got up about a dozen times to check and make sure nothing was wrong because it was going so smoothly. Then it happened....... something changed. I'm not sure what, but now, two weeks later, it is becoming a struggle. She wakes up atleast once a night screaming and we have to go console her (I'm not sure we should, but we wait to see if she'll fall back asleep first, sometimes she does), and twice she has gotten out of her bed and come to our room. Honestly, as I type this I was waiting for her to wake up, it's 9:15 on Saturday morning and I just peaked in to see her laying in bed reading her Strawberry Shortcake book. Now, that after putting her to bed last night took 1 1/2 hours of a screaming fit that I sat on the couch in the living room and cried through. That may sound harsh, but I believe we HAVE to do it. She HAS to learn that every time she "fits" we won't come and fix it, or she will keep doing it. Last night was the worst. Yesterday for nap, PMSing and tired, I screamed at her and made her cry. I admit this because I was so ashamed that I scared my only daughter. Why does going to sleep have to be such a struggle? I have figured it out, I think, and I've found support for my decision, it's because we want to do it right. It's easier to do it wrong. It's easier to let THEM be in control. She is not in control. I have to repeat that to myself alot. I found this article by my favorite: Elisabeth Elliot. I will link to it. Some people may find it harsh, I believe it's the ONLY way.
